We Need Your Power Lord

Acts 1:8...But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. KJV

If you were to take a poll asking what do you want most, the word power would undoubtedly come into play. People want power primarily because of what they perceive it will change regardging their life. Power can change your financial status, power can get you out of a dead end job, power can help you get even with that person who get's on your last nerve. We think power or having power can do what you want. That is what the world portrays and wants you to believe. After all, who wants to be the one without it. No one wants to be powerless.

This natural realm we live in everyday is difficult, make no mistake about it. It has been since the beginning of time. There has always been the battle over this thing called power. We know it as the battle of good versus evil. Satan is the one who has control over this earthly everyday world we live in. The proof of that is right in front of us. look at the chaos, look at how people  treat each other. There is so much hatred, bitterness and strife and it isn''t just in the United States...it is worldwide.

There is however another realm where power like you have never seen exists if you are a non believer. To the Christian, this realm I am talking about is the Spiritual and in that realm is true POWER...Holy Ghost Power. 

What is the difference between the power people have that are of the world versus this POWER found in the Spiritual realm? I am so glad you asked. 

We have political leaders who claim they have the power to pass legislation for the good of all people yet because of political bickering and lobbyists who are only concerned for their special interests...nothing gets done...for the people and if it is passed, the least of these bear the brunt of political chaos. 

Spiritual Power in the Greek is dunamis (the root word of our word for dynamite). Anyone who has seen the effects of dynamite knows it will certainly change some stuff. Dunamis means power, God is the source of all power. In the Old Testament, God through the Holy Spirit told Ezekiel to become His prophet and carry a Word to the children of Israel because they were rebellious.

Ezekiel Chapter 2-3 The Holy Spirit tells Ezekiel that he is going to be God's "Power" messenger delivering a hard word and because those receiving this word are indeed rebellious, he is not to be afraid. Speak my Word. I will give you what you are to say, do not be fearful...I have got your back. And things changed.

In the New Testament The Holy Spirit came upon Mary and the Power of the Most High will overshadow you (Luke 1:35)...Jesus was born and man did things change. The disciples were the fearful band accompanying Jesus but when the Day of Pentecost was fully come, and they received the Holy Ghost, they truly became the most Powerful Men Jesus always knew they would be and they changed things...but they needed the Holy Ghost to empower them.

So the worlds power compared to God's Power is no compasison. To receive God's Power, you don't need to be in politics or the head of a company. If you want this gift, ask God to fiil you.  Tell Him, send Your Power Lord, we need your Power.  Power to walk right, Power to live right, Power to speak Your Word, Power to change the atmosphere on your job, Power to carry His Word to this dying world. Power to tell the lost, Jesus Saves. 

After receiving the Holy Ghost, Peter preached the greatest sermon ever, 3,000 souls were saved. The disciples carried the Gospel to all known parts of the world and people were saved.

God is waiting on us to change this craziness, the world and those who enjoy its thievery will watch people going to hell and won't say a word but you...the Christian has to tell this world about our Jesus. When you receive this power, you too will become one dangerous individual. Not because of what you can do but what God can do to others through your witness.

Pentecost Sunday will soon be here, my prayer for you is that you will allow yourself to be filled with God's Power. Forget about anyone around you and focus on Jesus. Open your mouth, let Worship come from your lips, let Praise to Him come from your lips, receive ye The Holy Ghost and let God through His people tear this world system apart.
