Immanuel Is His Name

The Christmas Story

IMMANUEL

Isaiah 7:14-15 KJV

The Prophesy

Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel ("God-With-Us"). 15...Butter and honey shall he eat, that he may know to refuse the evil, and choose the good.

                                                                       THE BIRTH

                                                   Mathew 1:18-24 KJV

Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. 19...Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away privily. 20...But while he thought on these things, behold the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. 21...And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS:for he shall save his people from their sins. 22...Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet saying. 23...Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is GOD with us. 24...Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife: 24...And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.

                                              HIS PURPOSE  OUR SALVATION

                                                         John 3:14-18 KJV

And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:15...That whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life. 16...For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17...For GOD sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved. 18...He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of GOD.

                                                          OUR PURPOSE

                                                      Matthew 28:19-20 KJV

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20...Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen

                                                        Mark 16:15-18 KJV

Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. 16...He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved, but he that believeth not shall be damned. 17... And these signs shall follow them that believe: In my name shall they cast out devils: they shall speak with new tongues: 18...They shall take up serpents, and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them: they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall revover.

                                                                       LUKE 24:45-49 KJV

Then Jesus opened their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures. 46...And said unto them Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to ride from the dead the third day: 47...And the repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. 48...And ye are witnesses of these things. 49... And behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until you be endued with power from on high.

                                                                       Acts 1:4-8 KJV

And, being assembled together with them Jesus commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem but wait for the promise of the Father, which saith he, ye have heard of me. 5...For John truly baptize with water: but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence. 6...When they therefore were come together, they asked of him saying Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? 7...And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons which the Father hath put in his own power. 8...But ye shall received power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the utter-most part of the earth.
