The Power Of The Holy Spirit

Acts 2:1-4 KJV

And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2..And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. 3..And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. 4...And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Jesus had told the disciples before leaving them for the final time to go to Jerusalem and wait for the promise. These are the same men who had issue after issue while Jesus was with them. Never getting anything right and afraid of their own shadow. But this time, Jesus told them to go to Jerusalem and wait for the promise. They did as they were instructed, the number (approximately 120 including women) were in the upper room, praying in one accord with one another. There was harmony and unity focused on one thing for 10 days. 

And suddenly, their lives changed, they would never be the same because the manifestation of Gods Holy Spirit became real with the sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind. that filled the whole house they were sitting in. Cloven tongues as of fire appeared to them and sat on each one. And they were all filled with The Holy Spirit and began speaking with other tongues (new language) as the Spirit gave them utterance. They all became who and what Jesus knew they would be, no more afraid of their own shadow, no more chaos because Jesus was gone, they have received POWER from above. 

Some laughed, some cried uncontrollably, they were speaking in languages they never heard and those around them understood every word they spoke. The outpouring of the Holy Spirit is a miraculous thing to witness. For those who have seen it, they have never forgotten the experience. For those who have been filled with God's Precious Gift they have never forgotten it. The 120 in the upper room became the bold men and women proclaiming the Goodness of God and Jesus Christ with authority. It not the fearful one but the Power And Spirit Of God moving through them, convicting those who heard them and changed lives forever. 

Peter preached a sermon after being filled and thousands accepted Jesus Christ. You too can received God's Precious Gift, Pentecost Sunday is coming. If you want to be filled, do what the 120 did. Commit yourself to asking to be filled with God's Gift. Lose yourself in prayer, allow your Spirit to overtake your senses. Forget those around you and focus on Jesus. The POWER you will receive will enable you to witness about Christ as you have never done before. Your life in Christ will change and you will never be the same and that is a good thing.
