Matthew 1:21 KJV

And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shall call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. KJV

O Come Let Us Adore Him, Christ The Lord is the lyric line in this beautiful song about our Savior. Isn't it interesting that the prophesied Savior of the world should make His entrance not to the governmental elite or the royal palace or church heirarchy. His parents don't have a membership to any special socical group, in fact Matthew 1:17 is the who's who in His lineage and what a group it is.

Think about the Jerusalem enquirer's headlines...Virgin girl to marry Joseph BUT she is pregnant and the baby is not Joseph's. All the gossip papers would be having a field day with this story. And Joseph still stay's with Mary because he is what the Bible call's a "JUST" man. Blameless, righteous, conforming to God's law and man's law. So because of this position he consider's privacy. (verse 19)

Isaiah 9:6 prophesied about this child Savior some 700 years before this birth when he wrote "For unto us a child is born, unto to us a son is given: and the government shalll be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called (not JESUS) but Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace". KJV

God would become man, a newborn baby would be called The might God, Everlasting Father and that my friends is a truth you and I accept by faith because our minds have difficulty with the second person of the Godhead in flesh. John 1:1...In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. KJV

John 1:14 ...And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us,(and we beheld his glory, the glory, as of the only begotten of the Father) full of grace and truth. And John 3:16 ...For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. KJV...because came to save us from our sins.

When he was born, King Herod tried his best to kill him because he felt threatened. A king fearful of a baby. Lukes account of his birth tell's us he was in a stable around smelly horses, pigs, goats sheep and of all people common shepherds watching their flock when all of a sudden God's excitement could no longer be contained.

Luke 2:9...And lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them and they were afraid. Verse 10...And the angel said unto them Fear not: for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. Verse 11...For unto to you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. Verse 12...And this shall be a sign unto you; ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. Verse 13...And suddenly there was with the angel  a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying. Verse 14...Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

What a gift, not wrapped in finery or royal garb. This gift was wrapped in swaddling clothes, laying in a manger. As he grew the wise men sent by Herod several years earlier finally reach the child and presented Him with gifts. Gold, frankincense and myrrh... 3 strange gifts for this young Savior. Gold for His Kingship ok, frankincense ok because of it's fragrance but myrrh was a burial ointment. In order for this King to save us from our sins, He would have to lay down His life. Yes, the cross was evident at Jesus birth.

Indeed a special Gift and one we celebrate at this time of year. So no it isn't about Santa a tree or what we give others as gifts. It is totally about Jesus Christ.

In our justice system, the court will expunge your record if approved by the judge. What ever crime you committed would be erased but you have to pay court costs and it can be a pretty long process. If the expungement is granted what you were charged with is gone.

Spiritually, every sin you have ever committed can be expunged only there is no court cost or long waiting period you have to go through. Because of the birth of this baby called Jesus, His death on calvery's cross and miracle resurrection, all a sinner has to do is confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, thou shall be saved. Romans 10:9 KJV

If you are realizing you need a change in your life for the better, that this baby called Jesus has been calling you and if you are asking, what gift could you possible give Jesus, it is an easy one...give Him you.

From my wife and I, Merry Christmas to you and your family. And thank You God for the wonderful gift that saves.
