                                   Have Faith In God's Promises

Zephaniah 3:12 & 13 KJV...I will also leave in the midst of thee an afflicted people, and they shall trust in the name of the Lord. 13...The remnant of Israel shall not do iniquity, nor speak lies; neither shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth: for they shall feed and lie down, and none shall make them afraid.

When you begin in chapter one thru 3 you discover many similarities of this time in history compared to today's events and how closely they mirror each other. Leaders then were corrupt, peoples hearts were far from God, the prophet calling for repentance of the people while there is still time to do so.
The truth of the Passover in Egypt, where those hidden behind blood-marked doors were protected from the angel of death (Exodus chapter 12), is repeated in the promise of Zephaniah 2:3 KJV where the meek of the earth who have upheld God's justice will be hidden in the day of the Lord's anger. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life John 3:16 KJV.

Chapter 1 is "God's Message to Judah", Chapter 2 "Seek The Lord" and chapter 3 "God's Judgement on Judah." But chapter 3 is where the passages for this message are found. As in our world, nation, city, community and neighborhood today, difficult times are with us. Truth is questionable because unless that truth fits our point of view there is no agreement consequently chaos is everywhere.

But there is great news in the midst of all the bad...God is still in control. Verse 12..."I will also leave in the midst of thee an afflicted and poor people, and they shall trust in the name of the Lord". When a society has no tolerance for the least of us, God steps in to remind them "Have Faith In My Promises".
The 23rd Psalm tells us of His promises. The poor will have what they need because the money is God's and in His economy the poor are rich. Since we are like sheep, His promises as our shepherd are we shall not want for anything. He restores broken souls, leads us in the path of righteousness. When we walk through the valley and shadow of death, (the operative word is "Through") ...we are not to fear any evil because He is with us. He prepares a table for us to eat from in the very presence of enemies.

We have the Promise's of Jesus who reminds us "Faith is Power". Some may tell people about their need to climb the rough side of the mountain in life's journey but my Bible say's Jesus said if you have the faith of a grain of a mustard seed you can say to the mountain move and if you don't doubt it will move.

We have the Promises of The Holy Spirit living inside you that enables you to do miraculous things. Acts chapter 3 find Peter and John going to the temple for prayer when they are asked by a lame man for alms (money). Peter told him they had no money but they had a name. In the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. The lame man did just that and was seen in the temple walking and Praising God. "Faith" is what unlocks doors, feeds you when you are broke, provides that miracle you need when The Holy Spirit say's "Do whatever it is" and you do it. So many times when we are faced with an impossible challenge, we ask God to open a door for us. He is saying "Turn The Knob".

Zephaniah 3:13 KJV...The remnant of Israel shall not do iniquity, nor speak lies; neither shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth: for they shall feed and lie down, and none shall make them afraid. Jesus said in John 15:16 KJV...ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. 17...These things I command you, that ye love one another.

Thank You Lord For Your Word.
