Matthew 6:33 KJV

Ambition is a wonderful thing. Without it, we would have no desire to get up everyday and go to our jobs. The problem with ambition is, it directs our pursuit of it to accomplishing what the world tells us we need to achieve in order to reach whatever the goal for us is. In that pursuit, we feel empty and unsatisfied.

We have all kinds of guides from professionals in all fields to help guide us. Everyone wants to be the best they can be, searching for that recognition we seek after that let's us know "I am the number 1" at whatever it is I do. Seeking after this ambition is okay for the world but for the Christian, it is a huge problem.

Our ambition drives us to have the finest car, largest home, a wardrobe second to none, beautiful mate with 3.1 children in the finest schools and known by everyone one who is anyone one in the city and surrounding suburbs. We seek after a moving target and unless we hit it every single time we are never satisfied. Truth be told, even when we hit the target every single time, we are still not satisfied. The mission becomes being laser focused on aquiring stuff.

When we go to Church, many times we are so preoccupied with other things, we give no meaningful effort to true Praise and Worship. The leaders tell us to raise our hands and we do, they tell us to give God thanks and we do but it is half hearted and we leave not being satisfied and that my friends is sad. How can we be in God's house where healing is, where deliverance is, where peace for the soul is and leave feeling unsatisfied.

Jesus tells us in Matthew 6: 25-34 that our true theme in life should be of single-hearted devotion to God, focusing with an attitude of freedom from anxiety over our daily needs. He illustrates in these passages the worthlessness of worry by showing that worry is unnecessary, unfruitful and unbecoming to Christians.

Seeking fortune, fame, notoriety and everything the world has to offer has it's place but the daily pursuit of it will leave you unfulfilled. Our passage for this message, Matthew Chapter 6 verse 33 tells us... But seek first, not when it crosses our minds, not as an after thought. Our mission has to be seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. If we do what Jesus say's we have a guarantee...all these things we need for survival will be provided.

Our walk, our mission must first be God's Kingdom. Our country and this world is in a mess. The only thing that will fix it is Christian's taking a stand to remind everyone we meet to make their mission to seek first God's Kingdom and His Righteousness and the things we need will be ours. Not all our wants but our needs.

David said in the 27th Psalm "One thing have I desired of the Lord, that I will seek after"...He wanted to dwell in God's house all the days of his life and to enquire in God's temple. That was his mission. David then told us why seeking God was so important. He knew this world can't offer anything peaceful to man's Spirit like God can. Nothing the world offers can offer Divine Protection like God can, Nothing the world offers can answer your prayer for help like God can. Nothing the world can offers can teaach you about loving your neighbor unconditionally like Jesus did. Nothing the world has to offer can lead you to truth like The Holy Spirit can, and nothing the world has to offer can provide salvation and eternal life like belief in God's Son Jesus Christ can.

Being kingdom minded has to be our focus, witnessing to everyone about Jesus and their need to know Him. That is our mission, our goal for God's coming kingdom. Have faith in God and He will take care of every need we have.

Thank you Lord for Your Word.
