Ephesians 6:10-18...Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might

The Holy Spirit spoke to me this morning to share this with you, God's people because Google+ is about to go away. He wanted me to thank each and every one of you that have read the messages He has given me to share with you over these years and remind you of His Divine purpose for everyone...without exception...in the face of difficult times "Stand On My Word".

If you have found yourself asking, what is wrong in the Church? Congratulations you have matured as a Christian. You have gone from "This little light of mine" that we learned as children through our years of learning in Sunday School to Bible study and personal study of God's Word to the realization something is wrong.

The Apostle Paul wrote this epistle (letter) to the Church at Ephesus while imprisoned in Rome. Ephesians unveils the mystery of the church, to form a body to express Christ's fullness on earth; to do this by uniting one people-both Jew and Gentile (and all people) among whom God Himself dwells; and equip, empower and mature this people to the end that they extend Christ's victory over evil to everyone we meet.

We are enabled to accomplish this purpose because Ephesians gives us basic steps of maturing in Christ before engaging in this battle over evil. Before the church is called to war, we are taught to walk, before being called to walk the church is taught where she stands. By the time you get to Chatper 6, Paul reminds us in order to achieve victory in the battle we will face, we have to have all our armorment in place so victory can be assured.

Always remember our war is a spiritual one. We however can not lose as long as we remember verse 1...Be strong in the Lord and in the Power of His might...not our own. The difference between a person in the military and the Christian is fear. During a battle with the enemy, a soldier understandably is fearful because bullets and bombs kill and that battle could be lost. The Christian however goes into battle depending on the one who has never lost one a battle. Christians remember what God did with the Children of Israel again Pharoah and his army, what David did against Goliath, what Elisha did against the army that surrounded his house and what Jesus Christ did when he came out of that tomb.

There is no way the church will be defeated if the church will stand on God's Word and stop straddling the fence of the world vs The Word. In your work place, don't become the people pleaser. Serve the Lord in all you do. realize God put you in that place because you have His son Jesus Christ in you and His Holy Spirit to guide you in what you should say and do. Have the Holy Boldness you possess and stand on God's Word. Not some of the time but all of the time.

Every piece of armor described in verses 13-17 guarantee's you victory and to provide you with that assurance you will need to achieve the victory on evil, verse 18-20 is the prayer for BOLDNESS to speak what the Spirit wants said. We need to remember victory is ours through Christ Jesus.

So what is wrong with the church? Forgetting it's power and true purpose. It's not about being politically correct, it's not about saying the wrong thing, it's not about compromising what the Bible say's to avoid conflict or difficulty.

Every new day we are given a chance to see, Stand for God and His Truth because one day His Son Jesus Christ will stand for us and say the words every Christian wants to hear..Servant, well done.

To my brothers and sisters in Christ, again I thank you for your support over the years. It is my prayer you will keep my blog  www.elderburgess.com  as one of your favorites. Also visit us and enjoy tremendous Sunday worship at www.jubileememphis.org ...
