Tom Burgess The Journey
A long time customer over my 23 years at Lexus of Memphis has become a great friend that I share our faith in God with. He asked me last year if I would be one of 72 men from Memphis that has shared their life's journey with men all over the world. My immediate answer was "YES".
The intent of the interviews is to let young and aged men know that in spite of lifes issues and uncertanties, you can and will make it. I hope you will enjoy my journey.

The news from Orlando is as disturbing as every incident America has endured since...just pick date...pick an incident...our hearts break for the senseless loss of life...we cry the tears of anguish...we collectively say when will it stop...
So here is the question...have we had enough yet? Have we truly had enough yet? The scripture most quoted during situations like this comes from 2nd Chronicles 7:13 & 14 but I am going to focus on verse 14...If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land (KJV)
Here is my next question, which part of this passage are we failing to do? We know we are praying for our land to be healed...We know "IF" is a conditional clause. We also know scripture should never be added too or taken from so it can't read "When my people". So what in this verse are we failing to do? We are supposedly called by His Name or are we really?...we are supposed to be humble, so are we not humble enough?
From The Spirit Filled Life Bible...Here is a fact. This passage has a two fold condition with a threefold result and is extended to God's chosen people. If they humble themselves (turn from their sin) and seek His face in prayer...God will "hear, forgive and heal".
Supporting passages are Philippians 1:9-11...And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgement; (10) That ye may approve things that are excellent: that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ; (11)...Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.
2nd supporting passage is from James 5:16...Confess your faults one to another and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. "The effectual fervent pray of a righteous man or woman availeth much.
Final question...have we had enough yet?
