Something For Your Spirit

Isaiah 43:1B...Fear not:for I have redeemed thee. I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.

Isaiah 43:1...But now thus saith the Lord that created thee O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name: thou art mine.

God takes care of His people. Scripture repeatedly tells us, God provides but isn't it a wonderful "peace" to pick up His Word during our difficult times read it and be reminded...You are mine, you have been redeemed.

You may be to young to remember S & H Green Stamps, they were given to you at grocery stores based on how much your grocery bill was. The stamps were glued to pages in a book, when the pages were filled with the stamps you would take them to a redemption center for items you need like tables, lamps, chairs etc. The more completed books of stamps you had, the items became sofa's, refrigerators, more expensive things.

What was fascinating to me was the numbers of stamps on the floor being unused. They would be stuck to the bottom of peoples shoes, dirty, no good at least in my view. To the redemption center however, they didn't care what condition the booklet of stamps were in, they just wanted them back. I just said something...we, you and I may be considered worthless to many, no earthly good to some people, may have been a drug addict, liar, or that person no one wants to be around because to them we have no value  but to God we are priceless. He redeemed us at a price that could never be paid by any of us, He just wanted us back. Thank God for Jesus.

The word waters occurs as a metaphor in scripture to describe a person enraged like a raging heathen, the chaotic, or vast nations (for seas of people).  Verse 2...When thou passeth through the waters, I will be with thee:(so you don't drown)  and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: (those turbulent storms we encounter will not over take us) when thou walkest through the fire, thou shall not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. God will protect you and I from the fire just like he did for the 3 Hebrew boys Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego.

Verse 7...Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him. Are you called by His name? The Children of Israel became God's people, with all the issues they had. Happy one minute, crazy the next yet God because of His love for them performed miracles to protect them. He has done the same for you and I. He formed us for His Glory in spite of what we have done.

God gave us the greatest gift ever given when He sent His son Jesus to save us from our sin so we could have eternal fellowship with our Father. The old church song says' ...I am redeemed, bought with a price, Jesus has changed my whole life. If anybody asks you, just who I am, tell them I am redeemed.

If you have not done so as we begin this new year, instead of a resolution waiting on you to fail choose to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Our redemption cost us nothing but cost God and heaven everything yet God still calls us His own. For 2019 give God what He is due from you, decide to do something that will ensure your eternal life beyond this one we live now.

Romans 10:9...That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. No matter how messed up you or your life has been, it can be changed and you can be redeemed.

Thank You Father for Your Word.
